Manfred Kniel was born in 1951, studied music at the Music University in Stuttgart and has been an instructor there since 1983.
Since 1976, drumming, composing and improvising with sound have been Manfred Kniel´s work world. For the project “SoundStone“, he developed his own percussive instruments from stone and water.
“Our music is neither fashionable nor spectacular. It remains within the boundaries of its natural possibilities. It demands the artists´ commitment and faith in a natural order, which is the music´s strength. This music must be protected from occult interpretations. It thrives best in a simple, open atmosphere, spiced with humour.”
